Right now, this is what I have:

I want to replace the plastic side moldings with ones that match the paint, so it looks like this:

I'm going to go to a dealer and see what they quote me, but I have a feeling that it will be stupid expensive. Thanks for the help. :D

the bottom truck doesnt have any side moldings, they were taken off and prolly prepped and painted cause it gets nasty under there

why dont you just paint the plastic you have on their now (along with door handles and mirrors), i did it and it came out great

I would do what 02 XLT suggested.....it would be your best way to go. By the way 02 XLT....that looks great. Time to change the wheels though!

tell me about it, I'm pretty **** about which set of wheels i wanted to find for it and just found them, winter time here in canada so theres no reason to put them on for another few months :( but gives me time to get afew more things done

how did you go about painted the moldings? did you do it or did you have someone do it, how long did it take?.... $?

Actually, some XLTs came without moldings other than the simple rubstrip. My 05 XLT did. Looks better without all the plastic down there.

I'm with you there.....I bought a set of 20's 2 weeks ago, but I figured I might as well wait until March or April to put them on.

that looks reallllly good 02 XLT....I'm curious too how you did it, someday I'd love to but who knows if I'll be able to

I didnt do it, I went and had a body shop do it, doesnt really matter what I paid cause every shop is gonna charge you a different amount, I had them do a really good job on it cause i didnt want them just to paint the plastic, i had them sand it down and do like 5 coats just have it just a smooth has the body.

I only paid 500 canadian for all the trim and mirrors painted, im very happy i spent the extra cash to get them to do a really good job, its been like 2 years through canadian winters, and theres no chips or any problems with it, stil in mint condition

So were yours textured? Mine's an XLS, and I have had body shops tell me they can't get my bumpers and fender trim smooth. I've had others say they can do it, but are charging a LOT more than what you paid.
