I know there's a lot of diy kits but my headliner is torn badly and needs to be replaced.

Though I can't seem to find any shops that can do it. Even called a bunch of dealers and they said they don't do it. Called a body shop here that's very reputable and even he won't do it!

Where can I go?

Wondering if I should just rip off all the grey cloth and just rock the black sponge material that's underneath lol

If you're not afraid to tackle this yourself, there are a few posts on the forum on how to repair a headliner. Otherwise an upholstery shop is your nest stop.

Or, grab a friend to help manhandle it and head to the local JY.

As the other two guys said, either a car upholstery shop or get one out of a junkyard. If you don't have the sunroof it is real easy and even with a sunroof it isn't that hard.

tbh i called all the upholstery shops near me and they either wont do it or want like 800$ dollars because they gotta remove the entire roof and foam and everything... i looked up how to DIY it but tbh its too hard for me. Wondering if i should just tear off all the cloth and just rock the foam as my roof?

If you don't care, this is your best solution!

Before I just ripped the cloth off I'd go to the local Auto Parts Store and get a can of the spray adhesive for headliners and drop the cloth from the rear to allow you to spray up between the cloth and the foam and start working my way back.

and actually pulling the headliner is not that hard, if you keep the SUV you be doing a lot harder things to keep it running.

The foam will forever “snow” into the car.

More like gritty sand that floats around forever.. I found a grey headliner in parts yard and using a dust mask and razor blade cut out pieces. Then replaced into my own truck using spray adhesive.

I just purchased the materials to replace the headliner in my '93 Explorer. 10'x4' foam backed headliner + 1 can 3M headliner adhesive was under $100. While it is a time consuming job, it can be done with basic skills and tools. There are plenty of howto videos on YouTube...I really like the Eastwood video's by Kevin Tetz:

Here is where I bought the materials B-D company local in Denver, CO. It looks like they will ship as well...

They are super nice and very helpful...I asked tons of questions and they want to see your project succeed.
