Where did the paint go?

my stock 91 XLT paint on the exterior pillars has worn off. I am looking to just get a spray can and try to cover the empty areas.Has anyone had this problem....if so what kind of paint did u use or any other helpful hint....

You can get matching color paint in a spray can at any auto parts store, just match up the body color code on the VIN# label with the color listed on the in-store catalog. Be sure to use primer if the paint has worn down to the metal, and spray some clear over the paint for the finishing touch. It will look pretty good if you take your time to let each coat dry, and tape everything off to prevent any overspray.

After he did this, would there be a noticable difference between the old and the new paint? Stand out?

I have a black ex, and I used spray on bed liner, it looks great.
