My brother is looking for a set of coil spacers for his 92 sport, and i don't know that i've even seen the ones that everyone runs. He's going to check at our local off road shop today, but i don't even know how they go on. Can some one show me or tell me? Thanks.

BION, I believe the best place to get them is at the dealer. '96 F150 2WD

JoshC,
Check Dead Link Removed for the daystars. I have a pair of one inch spacers that I don't think I will be using anymore if your brother only needs 1".

I believe he is looking for around 2" cause he got some shackles too. But i'll let you him.

That's is hard to believe, i might call over there and ask.

Hey Josh, let me know what you find out. And yeah, I'm looking for 2" but thanks anyway. I'm going to head over to the 4x4 Unlimited (I think) after work today and see what they have. So let me know kind of prices you find.

I called Midway Ford and they didn't have anything, of course their parts department is about worthless. I've had to show them a bunch of times where a part was or what it's called. Sad huh.

Josh, call Mountaineer 4x4

I've not got time, i'm getting ready to walk out the door to head up to PA, you can call them later, see ya.

Got mine from Superlift!

A dealer won't know what it is if you call it a spacer.

Its is actually the lower spring seat from an f-150 (96 2wd).

Thanks Mark. I went over to the Ford Parts department yesterday and he printed off a graphic for me and I had no clue what it was. And of course he didn't either, so now I know what to ask for. How much lift does that give you?

Thanks

I believe it is 1 5/8" (or slightly more, but < 2")

i just ordered mine a couple days ago.... 96 f150 4x2 coil seat mount.... they were a total of $14.** i have tha part # in the car.... and also, the description the parts guy gave me was basically a rubber donut like thing...... i hope these are it......

Do the coil spacers lift all 4 corners, or just front or back ? If its just the front/ back, how do you lift the other end ? ( forget the second question if the first is true........)

The spacers (spring seats) go under the front springs of a first generation explorer..

To lift the rear you can use
a) add a leaf (1.5" to 2") (not recomended for sports with mono leaf rear springs)
b) Warrior (war-153) shackles (1.5" lift)
c) new springs from OME (2") (OME-36)

I went to the local Ford dealership this afternoon and asked about the coil spring spacers. The fellow knew what I was talking about and said he had sold several sets to X owners. None were in stock but these are stock factory items on every 2wd f-150 made between 92 and 96 the parts guy said. So I'm off to the boneyard to find a set. Should I check out the f-150 coil springs also for even more lift or has this already been tried w/o success ? I plan on measureing the X coils and then compare with what's under the donor f-150.

The F150 coils are larger in diameter (at the top of the spring) and not just length. They will not fit in your coil bucket. Besides the F150 springs would be very stiff due to the fact that they are rated for a full size with a V8. Now if you had a F150 standard cab and wanted a 2" lift spring to level the truck then you could go with the F150 supercab spring, it's heavier.

Maniak
how much do warrior shackles cost?

$57.99 from 4wheelparts
