I got a big 9" red LED one in the rear, well eventually this week.. Too bad I can't use it except for demonstrations.

LEDs make the taillights crack out because they think there's no bulb there. It's pretty cool looking actually, it blinks super fast. Buddy has them in his Integra.

Now as far as the reason you can't find that bulb, it's because it doesn't exist. You need a 3157, not a 1357.

i put an LED light in but it was blinking so fast that you couldnt even tell it was blinking when i had my turn signals on, and the bulb in my explorer says 1357.

That's the "cracked out" I was talking about. I kinda liked the way it looked, other people don't. According to Sylvania's little guide and every other thing I've seen, it's 3157, not 1357.

But then again, I have been wrong before.

juss go with the red gel covers on the regular whtie bulbs, last a little bit longer and they dont fade out super quick

The "cracked out" flashing is because you have to put a resistor in line with the bulb. LED's use less power than regular bulbs, therefore the fast flashing.

Or here; http://www.superbrightleds.com/1157.htm I wouldn't buy APC products, I have and I regretted it. :thumbdwn:

I have the 24 LED version, but,,,,,,,,,,,,, clear tail lights are illeagle for on road use, even with red colored bulbs or red LED's. The back of your vehicle MUST have red reflective surfaces visable form the back and from the side.

On a side note, according the the Federal DOT, there is no DOT/SEA approved red coating for an incadescent bulb.
