I am curious where does everyone buy their parts.
online somewhere,
ford dealer, autozone,Napa, local mom and pop store..

the reason i ask is this. Saturday i bought a IAC valve from Napa and i bought it there cause it was only $41.00 well saturday afternoon went to put it on with some other part and wow it will not fit well it fit but the connector was completely different, so i ran back to napa and holy crap they closed at 4;00 on a saturday??? I am used to florida where part stores on saturday are open till at least 9:00pm...went to napa monday and they said yes it is the wrong part in the correct box reordered it went back yesterday they had 2 and both were still wrong I wenty back today still wrong even in the parking lot i took mine off brought it in and they found one with right connector but that little plastic cap was facing down and when i went to install it it hit the new DPFE valve i had installed...
so I ot my credit for it and need to buy it again, too expensive in other places around I got prces from $69.00 to $119.99 that is crazy cause Napa is ususaly the highest priced here,

thans for your help guys,,

napa

I ussually go to advance auto or autozone in my area. The reason is the guys who work at these stores are car buffs, and some are even retired master techs. The one manager at the autozone by me has 3 project cars, a 92 stang pro-street, a 65 stang convertible, and a 70 Boss 429 (his pride and joy).

as much as possible I try to stay with OEM.
Mostly I get them from the dealer through my shop.
Supplies ( oil, cleaning products, what have you )
I get through Pep Boys or Auto Zone.

definelty autozone, it's cooler, and they sell beer there....

Checker, because that is where all the 4 wheelin' kids hang out in my area

And for OEM I second using Torrie at Ford Parts Network. He sells OEM and his prices beat the Delership prices, often competing favorably with aftermarket suppliers.

Depending on where you live, O'Reilly Auto Parts is a great parts store as well.

I use Rock Auto or Autozone, sometimes the dealership if I am in a rush. The prices at Ford parts net is very good but they have not worked out for me so far.

Piston Ring gives me great service , their prices are good and very fast delivery .
Plus they deliver to my door .

napa sucks, its a privately owned franchise, meaning that each store is run differently, according to how the owner of the specific store wants to. luckily i havnt had to buy any major parts for my explorer cept the usual brake pads, shoes, and hardware, oh, and the first ever alternator replacement haha. try Advance Auto Parts, the best part is our people. haha

I find that the smaller local chains in my area carry better parts. CAP (Consumer Auto Parts) is one that I use often. I think they are mostly in Central Massachusetts, but I think there may be one in Milford. Autozone is good if your looking for cheap parts and more general things. As someone else mentioned it has a lot to do with who is running/working the store. Next time you are looking for parts, call a few stores in your area. You can tell a lot about the store from the responses and the differences in what they carry for the same applications. Don't be afraid to call the dealer, for some parts it is the best option. Ford Parts Network is good too, but after shipping I have found the price about the same as the dealer for some things.

Advance or Auto Zone. The Pep Boys is VERY run down and I don't trust them.

I always have to order online (from South Africa) and I use fordpartscheap.com
It's very detailed.

(knock on wood) But I haven't needed parts yet but when I do I'll go to advance or the ford parts online provided it isn't something immediate. I get my oil at walley world 5qt of mobil 1 =$18

I buy all my parts from Advanced Auto parts

a buy a couple things from NAPA

I buy a lot of my tools from AutoZone, great neck sockets all day baby aha

nah actually AutoZone seems to have more of the "hard to get tools" like Tamper-Proof Torx

But advanced seems to have more of the High-Quality parts like Warn hubs and all that good stuff

Advanced is the only place where i can find Deka Gel batteries

f**k optima, you get 33.3333_% more with deka Gel, and its like 50 bucks cheaper

It's easier if you email them. Give them your info and what parts you're looking for and you should get a quick reply. I buy all my Ford parts from them.
