I've had no luck locating it. The manual just seems to assume I know where it is.....Thanks. Also, any tips for removing the fuel filter? It seems a little harder to get at being behind the metal plate.

if your truck is running then it has a oil filter... and it's on the pass side near the rear of the motor.

fuel filter replacment you need a set of fuel line wrenches ( 3/8 and 5/16...i think the 3/8 is then one you need tho )
the fuel filter is directlly under the drivers seat on the frame rail .2 hose clamps have to be removed from the bracket .

grab the following :

can of carb spray
safety glasses ( incase of fuel spray i'll talk more about this below )
shop towles
new filter

1: you want to take the pressure off the system ( fuel line) 3 ways to do this ...

(1) pull the fuel pump relay ( and start the motor till it dies)
(2) under the passenger side floor board there's a fuel inertia safety
switch ( trip it ) ( start the motor till it dies)
(3) the schrader valve on the fuel rail ( ontop of the engine on the
fuel rail ...blue cap ,looks like a tire valve cap) press in the valve
and let the pressure down ( carefull not to spray yourself ...have
a shop towle ready)

2: undo the hose clamps that hold the filter onto the frame rail ..once it's loose then take the can of carb spray and spray into the "bell" shaped catch / line that on both sides of the fuel filter .

...basiclly the use of carb spray is to get all the built up dirt on the inside on the catch so then when the tool is used it has a much easier time of working seeing how the catch is really tuff to do if you have never done it before or ever been done . press the fuel line removel tool into the catch and with kinda one motion hold the tool into the catch while pulling the line out from the fuel filter ...the line should release then .

pic of the line tools that i have ...some prefer the plastic ones or there is a metal one that looks like a scissor but i have found for me these have worked well .......

As mentioned, its on the passenger side, towards the back of the motor..

To get a better idea. The Oil filter mount is on the side of the motor and is green in this pic with a yellow bolt going through the center.
