I went on a road trip this weekend. Little over 500 miles. Got 18.5mpg all HW 65-75 with the AC on. Checked oil before I left. Got home, went back out a few hours later. Low oil light on. Checked oil. It was at the add quart mark.
I have the normal seepage around the oil pan. It does drip a tiny bit if I don't drive it a few days, but nothing bad. Never had to add oil before.
Never had any car "use" oil. When a engine does, how does it?

Really has to be one of two things, valve seals or piston rings....

How many miles on the truck?

Unknown. Bought it in Feb. Title said 67K, 5 digit OD said 67K, VIN check shown it never rolling over. By the condition of the X & the way it runs, & the fact that the parts I have replaced are original ford factory. It could be accurate. But I'm going on the assumption it's over 167K. Valve covers are good. Runs fine, strong, no noises.

Sounds like the valve seals. Not the valve cover gaskets. Is it burning the oil? Sounds like it must be if its not leaking.
