Where should my 5.0 idle?

I'm just curious, mostly, but I came from a 2000 Sport, with the 4.0 OHV, and now I'm in an 01 Mounty with the 5.0 and AWD. Anyway, it idle's at just barely over 500 rpms.. is that normal? It seems really low to me, I know that the Sport would idle at probably 800ish. Just wondering where your guys rides idle. It is completely stock with a new air filter, plugs and oil, nothing else.

I believe you are just right. Once mine warms up, that is where it idles.

i got mine inspected last month and the report said mine idles at 867 RPM. usually when it's a real cold start, mine will idle at closer to 1000 for about 2 or three minutes though. i have a 2000 5.0 AWD mounty, never any problem. i did put in a new IAC bout 3 months ago though...
