I am in need of a manual 4x4 transfer case shifter boot , plastic trim ring and inner ring. I have hunted the wreckers around here and even with the cash for clunkers influx I can not find any

. I know my explorer is a rare one as it has manual transfer case and hubs, with an automatic trany. It also has the 60 40 front bench seat with arm rest storage.

Any way my trim ring is all broken up and the boot has holes and rips in it. I would like a stock set up but if I can not find the parts, what would be the best way to mod one and with what and who’s would you suggest?

Thanks for your help. Ya all have been a great help in many ways keeping this old beast running!

They may cost more than used, but it's probably worth it since you'll save all the time and hassle of looking around, plus they'll be new and last longer.

By the way, I sure would like to see a pic of the auto tranny/manual transfer case setup. I've never seen it, always thought the manual t-case was only offered with the manual transmission.

Well tell me what you want to see and I will try to get some pics of it.
Do not know if I can post them here but I can send then to an e mail to you I do know that. It will be hard to pull up the carpet now with the broken trim ring and all but I can try as it seams to be over time a lot have also wonders about that set up so I could try and pull back the carpet lift the plat up and even get a pic or two of it under that so you would have them from the top side and under the truck. It is a simple set up with a shifter coming threw the floor on the left hand side of the hump but still on the top of it. Then bolted to the transfer is a plate that is the shift gate and also the adjustment for the shifter the opening on the plate is about 7 to 8" long by 4 to 5" wide. One single rod going to the case and that’s about it good pics of one in both the Haynes and Chilton’s books also.
so let me know and if a lot really want this I well try to get it done sooner then later and a shift boot and or trim ring would get me to do it even faster LOL. Ya know I am like a politician Bribes work LMAO!

I'm just mainly curious to see the interior setup on those, especially with the bench seat too, those were pretty rare as well, might be the bench seat and manual transfer case were on a special trim package.

Once you get your parts and have the new boot and hardware installed just snap a pic and either post it on here or send me a link.

O heck I will do that this weekend as it is together right. would do it now but I am getting ready to be long gone for a bit. I do not know if it was special ordered this way or what as I am the 3rd owner. The other two owners did not keep it long only about two years each I have had it for most of its life. Been a good truck.

I have seen one and only one before. Think Ranger with a really really long extended cab.

Actually the bench from the Ranger is the same seat used in the Explorers. You could install one very easily.
