Where to find a wrecked V8 5.OL in Northern California?

Hey guys, anyone know where I can find a complete V8 5.OL engine from a '98-2001 wrecked Explorer/Mountaineer in Northern California?


Anyone know how much $$$$ these engines from wrecked cars typicaly go for ?

Depending on the damage and miles expect around $3k for the vehicle. Do an internet search for auto salvage auctions. If you just want the engine then I'd check the phone book for auto junk yards.

ASP84 has one on ebay right now. (Its in AZ though). His Reserve is set at $550 I think.

Yeah. Just keep your eye open for deals. I got a '99 5.0, 4r70w, 4404, 8.8 rear end, basically, all this:

for $1050

Where exactly are you from? I got my stuff from a guy near Modesto.

When i need parts i go to my buddie at the wrecking yard "DJW Wrecking" in Gridley CA or any wrecking yard for that matter can put out an APB on parts through the net and have them pretty damn quick at a decent price.

section525- I'm actually from where you got your stuff from. You bought it from a wrecking yard or a random guy? I called one shop today that wanted $1000 just for the motor.... but everyone knows they over charge.
