Where to find better prices?

Hey,

i did some searching on the TruckPerformance website for some performance products. but the prices seem kinda high. example:

Granatelli MAF - $300 (10-15hp)
Hypertech Chip - $220 (10-15hp)
BBK Crome Plated Headers and Y-pipe - $350 (10-15hp)
Carsound High-Flow Cat - $266 (8-10hp)
BBK 66mm TB - $200 (15-20hp)

that would be well over $1300 just in products. surely there has got to be somebody that sells cheaper.

and i don't believe the claimed hp gains either. anybody ever dynoed this products to find their true gains?

Ok from what I understand, these gains are what you would get if you only installed THAT product, with the combination of all those products you would end up with much, much, less HP than advertised, and you should probably take the lowest HP advertisement as the actual one. However you can get the chip from Kurtz Kustomz Motorsports for around 180 i think, and yes i recommend it. Also, I don't think you will need high-flow cats, from what I have heard the stock ones are not very restrictive. Keep in mind with the installation of a a custom exhaust and headers you may experience a slight drop in low end torque. Many people on this site use the larger TB and MAF though, you may want to ask around on those. Personally, I don't see the point in spending the money for such a small HP gain.

I recommend some sort of filter mod, a chip, catback, and maybe the TB. The MAS and headers are not worth the money unless you're doing forced induction.

For the filter either get the KN drop in or the KKM kit, $30 or $90

Get a custom cat back system at a local muffler shop or a Flowmaster system from Dead Link Removed $200

Get the Hypertech or Superchip, $200-300. I got my Hypertech at Autozone for $195.

The TB is worth the money with the other 3 mods, $200 is a good price.

Explorer Express has headers for $209.
I got the TB for $200 from Truck Performance.
MAS for $239 from Explorer Express.

Oh yeah

And the guy from Truck Performance was telling me Granatelli purchases extra MASs from Ford and just bores them out some more, and kills us on the extra labor.
