All I see listed is the clear ones for the Explorers. They are $180. I guess I'll wait untill the price comes down. It would be nice if ProCarParts would get their act straight, because they have the carbon fiber ones for $159. Oh well, thanks anyway.
as in my thread posted above yours, Procarparts resolved my problem in a very good way. They are sending me new lights, and I don't even have to send back the old ones!
They also now sell the chrome Euro clears for only $109. Compared to the only other place I have seen sportruck.com at $199, thats a great deal.
I think you can trust procar, they made a mistake with me, but everyone makes mistakes, and they more than made up for theirs.
Thanks for the reply. I have tried to call them but I never get anyone to answer. If I can get someone on the phone and talk with them I would feel a little better about trusting them. We'll see.
RT, have you tried email? It worked for me. It takes them a day or two to reply, but be patient. Its tough and sometimes aggravating I know, but I'm sure they're busy. They will answer you though, and if not, send em another one. Like I said it took me a few times, and at one point they said they would having problems with their computers or somthing and that they didn't receive one of my emails. I don't know, but I do think they have good intentions anyway. I mean I'm still stunned that they're giving me a brand new pair of lights and letting me keep the old ones.
The customer service is good, it may be a bit slow, but good is more important that speed I think. And they've got those Euros for way cheaper than anyone else I've ever seen, so I'd say its worth it to save the money.
I tried e-mailing and phoning and got nothing. Many others have been burned by this joker. Watch out. Some people may have had a positive experience, but why take a chance. Check his feedback on e-Bay. He has THOUSANDS of negatives. Why?
i ordered the clear/fronts for my explorer thru procarparts.com//////i got it from e-bay....i never had a problem.....but when i did the purchase i got an e-mail saying to give them a good rating??? i emailed them i will when i get the lenses in mint/condition......well anyway a few days later i got a response stating that they dropped the lenses and scrached them.....they had no more left but will send it to me when they get the next shipment in......... i did get them a few weeks later......they were shipped properly and are in mint condition.......my input is they where cool with me......and those altezza lenses are hot....i want them for my explorer......
me neither, i had no problems with procarparts.com
i got my clear corners on ebay for $44 total to the door, and my carbon fiber taillights for $159 total delivered to the door from procarparts.com. i got them in like a week, and had no porblems. if you want to see what they look like on my truck to get an idea, click here
why are they the only ones? why do so many people have problems with them leaking?
here's a theory:
they buy the standard altezzas. they heat them up to make the adhesive sticky, then pop off the lenses. then, carbon fiber film is applied inside and the lens is replaced.
this would explain why no one else's distributer can get them and why they leak.
THIS IS JUST A THEORY
a few years ago, i read instructions on a board somewhere for converting corners on a different vehicle to clear. this was the method of removing the lens they described......but they suggested applying a small amount of adhesive before replacing the lens to avoid leaks.
I don't think thats really the problem, I mean I see your point, but I have the chrome euros, and they still weren't sealed. I think its just because they're made in Taiwan by people making $0.02 per day that hate Americans and don't give a $h^t about the quality of products they buy.
The only other place I know of that sells them is sportruck.com ($199)
How can I tell if they are the carbon fiber ones? Look at the site in my signiture and tell me which ones they are...They were like $180 new so Im guessing they are...
Grant
They look like the clear ones. To be sure look at these 2 links and you can tell the diff between carbon fiber and clears and let me know which ones you have. Why are you selling them? Do they leak or have any problems? Thanks! Clear Altezzas Carbon Fiber Altezzas
