Not sure where the sending unit is, but on most Ford engines it is next to the oil filter. I would recomend running a mechanical guage over an electric. But whichever you choose make sure you don't eliminate the stock sensor, since it sends info to the computer.

On the 1992 it is the driver side.. right by the steering box (front of the drivers side of the motor) Remember that the stock sending unit is the idiot light type. You can replace it with the real sending unit (there is a big thread on this) and then you can short out the 220 ohm resister behind the guage.

If you want to put another oil pressue sender on, you can replace the extension that the current sending unit is plugged into with a manifold (something to let you put more than sending unit into).

I replaced my stock sending unit with a real working pressure seosor and bridged that 20 ohm resistor on the back of th egauges and now I get my real oil pressure on the stock gauge. it works great!

I'm installing an auxillary oil cooler and I spliced a fuel pressure fitting into the 1/2" oil hose. It has a 1/8" threaded hole for the pressure sender. I'll post a pic soon.

Todd,
i can show you next month when we meet up at SL...then you can actually see it work.

I want to put a digital oil pressure guage on. Where can I hook the sending unit up? 98 XLT SOHC.

Anybody??? I found the stock sending unit but it is so cramped in there because it is right behind the A/C compressor and all the lines are running right around it. I dont think there will be enough room to put a T fitting in there and have both sending units on it. Are there any lines running anywhere for oil. I dont think I have a cooler.
