Where to start on a stock 4.0 OHV

I want to help out a 1992 4.0 OHV a little. My wife drives it mostly and she won't tolerate the loud sounds and I have to keep the driveablilty reasonable.

My first guesses are air intake and a cat back system. I've already pulled the resonator.

yeah try using the search feature as well.

then look into a chip, throttle body, mass air flow sensor, and if you really wanna have some fun porting and polishing of the intake, heads. and of course headers! have fun man.

The best thing you can do for it is a free flowing air filter and a free flowing exhaust. A simple K&N drop in air filter and a 2.25" exhaust with a good turbo muffler will help alot.
