I was searching online for a locker for my '97 explorer. I could only find the Powertrax lock-right, but at offroadlockers.com I found another. It is an Aussie Locker. They seem new and I was wondering if anybody has any experinces using the Aussie locker. Am I better off spend the extra $ for the Powertrax? Any advantages one way or the other?

Welcome to the site. First question, is what type of rear axle do you have? Is it Limited Slip or Open differential.. If you not sure, there is an axle code on the drivers door side panel. The aussie locker is a great locker alot of members run them without any issues. Essentiallly most of the lockers out there are lunch box style. They simply install in an open carrier with minimal tools. There are other lockers that replace the entire carrier. I would suggest getting a Aussie if you have a open differential. They are a site sponsor. When you order one, make sure you mention your from the Explorer forum.

I have the PT unit and love it, The Aussie was not out yet when I got my PT, today I would go for the Aussie as it is the same Paddle tech, matter of fact they both look and install the about the same, easy DIY install

thanks for the info. I ordered an aussie locker
