i am going to be installing two Phoenix Gold Octane-R 10D Subwoofers and i am stuck between getting two phoenix Gold Octane 2.0.1 amps so each sub gets an amp and then i can run them at 2 ohms or 1 Kenwood KAC-8101D class d mono amp but then it would run at 1 ohm and i don't think that amp could handel it or 1 PHOENIX GOLD OCTANE R8.0:1 mono amp which would also run at 1 ohm so i'm also skepital on the amps ability to run them without causing damage to it.

also has anyone used the phoenix gold octane-r 10d subs and how are they? i've heard the have a quite high output for how little power they require.

any help is greatly appreciated

I think if you want to use those subs you need to ge an amp that will push around 600 rms at 2 ohms or 4 ohms. The first amplifier you planned on using two of them could probably work. I am not familiar with them, but they might could get the job done. The kenwood amp is not reccomended also with the last one listed by phoenix gold. They are not rated at one ohm. You might hurt the amplifiers. Welcome to the site!
