Which Explorer to Buy?

I am in the UK and going to buy an explorer, my wife needs something that can tow her horsebox, but which model/yr to get? I know they were imported to the UK from 97 to 01, I heard that the early ones 97/98 had lots of problems with tyres, wheel bearings, cruise controls etc so any input would be much appreciated.

if it is any help, i got a 98 4.o ovh with 60,00 miles on it and since have put another 50,000 on it in the last 2 years...it runs like a champ...nothing has gone wrong with it except maybe the transmission...it had to be rebuilt...runs like a champ though...i believe it would easily surpass the 200K mark without much problem. oops, just realized you want to tow...get the 5.0 and you will be set..you can still expect a long life and a happy car if you maintain it correctly.

I'd go for an '00 or '01. Pretty much the newest you can get with the least amount of miles. I would also go for the North Face Edition. They'll have the best seats and the most features.
