the dual in dual out 2.5" one

not sure on part #

i believe its about $85

i've had it on my truck for a long long time now

how does it sound and how is the highway drone

no highway drone with tail pipes (i've got none these days since there is no way to get them over the axle with my suspension)

i love the sound. its loud but properly mannered.

how wud u compare it loudness wise to a flowmaster muffler? (if you know how flowmasters sound....)

it is equivalent to the 50 series suv db wise. however, it sounds much more powerful in my opinion.

I like a dual in single 3" out, gets you a little more torque for a truck 5.0L

I personally have a Magnaflow dual 2.5" in single 3" out on my 5.0 Explorer. Its dumped right after the muffler. You get a nice, deep tone at idle and up to about 1800 - 2000 RPM. Above that, its just a mild rumble, nothing too loud (with the stereo up I can't even hear it). The only time outside that range its noticeable is when you're really on it.

Of course, there's probably even less noise when its not dumped right under the rear seats in the X, so if you route it out the back or the side, it would reduce even more cabin noises. All in all I love the sound and performance I get out of it, although I am planning on rerouting it out the side so that I don't get as much resonance at idle (from reflections back off the road).

note that dumping the exhaust anywhere under the passenger compartment is illegal in many states. :) Not saying you will get pulled over for it, just saying thats what I found out, I wanted to dump my exhaust before the rear tire, through the rocker panel :)

410, you make a good point. It is technically illegal to dump exhaust within so many inches of any passenger doors. I have personally never had a problem with it, but it is something to watch out for. Another option is to have it run over the axle and then dumped on the other side of the axle. I did this in my '01 Ranger Edge I had and it worked great.

Ive got a super 40 flowmaster on mine Turned down out of the muffler Sounds wonderful loads of power

i just hope this new muffler i got doesn't sound ridiculous on a 3.0 ranger.....
