Which one to get?

I am looking for a in dash cd, mp3 stereo for my sons car and can't decide on which one.
I have narrowed it down to the Pioneer, Sony or Alpine. All are entry level cd/mp3 units. The Pioneer and Sony are about $179 and the Alpine is $259.
Any advice?

Both pioneer and alpine make good quality head units. Sony makes some of the coolest looking headunits, but for some reason can't retain good quality as well. Go with Pioneer and Alpine and you should be very happy. The alpine will give you more precise sound tweaking (if you are into that) and the pioneer will give you more general preset sound options for the average listener, that will be the biggest difference between Alpine and pioneer. I own alpine, I love Alpine.
