Hi all, I have a delima and I was hoping someone could help. I'm getting 31" tires on my X in a month and have decided to get some new rims to go with them!;)
I saw the American Racing Dead Link Removed and thought that would look really good but then I saw the Dead Link Removed and like those just as much. I don't want anything real flashy, just different. What do you guys think? The AR-767's are only $71.99 per wheel and the Tyrant is $148.99 per wheel at etire.com...

I think the Tyrant look really sweet. Not a rim you see everyday. They will definately turn some heads when wrapped in 31s.

Definetely the Tyrants, very unique!

What color is your truck? If it's black, the ARs would look good too

Thanks for the help guys... yeah, I'm having trouble because I have a white/gray two tone truck (white on top and grey on bottom, I'm sure you have seen them around). I don't know if the all black rims will look good against the grey but the Tyrants would accentuate the grey on the bottom... God, do I sound a little fruity now or what?:D

Spend the extra $$ and go with the Tyrants.

I think I'm going to end up doing that. The more I look at the Tyrants the more I like them. Hit a snag though yesterday as I just spent 700 bucks getting the front brake pads replaced and the ticking sound in my engine fixed (of which they didn't fix  ). So I might have to hold off on the rims for another month. Thanks for everyone's help!
One more question, I'm still going to get the 31's, there isn't any major issues with putting those tires on new rims after they have already run on the old rims is there? I don't want them to start wearing differently.

Why did you pay 700 bucks on getting new breaks???????????? Unless you had to have major engine work done! Did they say the ticking might have been the lifters or what???

Ford dealership that's why. No one seems to know what the ticking sound is and that's why I took it to the dealership because I figured if anyone would know they would. They thought it might be the timing-chain tensioner so they replaced that. Didn't help it. Now they are telling me to use a higer octane gas so I'm running my first tank of that to see if that helps. But no mechanic can tell me what it could really be.

Did anyone ever look at the Injection System? My bro had an S10 the injectors went bad and it caused a bad ticking sound!!

I dont know much but I know when lifters go bad, it causes a really loud Knocking noise!!

At the risk of sounding dumb, where are the lifters and are they a pain to replace?

It would be alot of money to change these parts out man. They are located inside the Engine. Have you ever saw insive of a Valve cover? Well if I am not mistakin there is a lifter for every valve. They are located in that vicinity man. I had all my stuff replaced in my 91 Ranger 2.9ltr. and the whole rebuild was around 1000$.

Oh ok, I know what your talking about. Well, I'm just going to run it until it stop working. Otherwise I just turn the radio up and my problem is solved!:D Thanks for the suggestions!
