On www.truckperformance.com right now, they are having a sale with free shipping for flowmaster mufflers. I am going to buy one soon, because the sale ends tom. However, i wanted to know which size to get. Im going to go with flowmaster delta force 40 with a single 3 inch in with a dual 2.5 inch out. There are two mufflers, one of the last few to be exact on the website ,

One is 4inch Thick x 9 3/4inch Wide, 13inch Shell / 19 inch Overall Length and costs $60.78

The other is 5inch Thick x 10inch Wide, 10inch Shell / 16 inch Overall Length and costs $73.78

Does anyone know if i have to go wtih the wider and shorter muffler due to space, or can i go wtih a smaller one to save $$

And is center inlet the best? or should i go wtih an offset one?

i have center in, offset out on my flow 40 non deltat single in/out... i am sure eith will fit just fine, as there is enough room uner there for an extra couple inches....

my friend just gave me this idea. wondering if it will work. He said instead of getting a center 3 inch inlet, get an ofset 2.5 inch inlet, and then "open" up the other side of the inlet area, where there should be an indentation for another hole, and make the muffler be the "x" pipe for the car. So basically, just buy a 2.5 inch offset inlet, have the shop open up the other side, therefore having dual 2.5 inch inlet, with dual 2.5 inch out. What do you guys think???

i called up one of the shops near my area. they said it would be no problem opening up the "hole" to make the 40 a dual in. However i called flowmaster and they said not to do it. So whats a bigger risk.. going iwht a y pipe to make the stock dual in into a single in for fit the muffler, or getting an offset single in and cutting the hole to make it a dual in?? hMm

And now they have stainless steal ones. rather than the normal aluminized steel, itz stainless, with a limited lifetime warranty (to the original purchaser) rather than a 1 year with the aluminized.
