Go with the live wires from Performance Distributors. They are a little expensive but worth it to me. Also PD recommends them for the hotter spark. I had no problems with fitment even though they were originally for the 3.8 Mustang.

Test the resistance of the wires. I remember reading something about the Jacob's wires being 250 ohms per foot in their catalog. Accel 8.8 MM wires are also good. They have custom wire sets where you could crimp your own lengths. I've done this in the past. I have a set of wires on my 88 which are made out of 4 gauge wire, and Accel ends (metal, and rubber).
i have accel 8 mils and i love them, i also have iridium plugs which i would recomend.but if you get the accels, i would yell at you if you got the non-custom ones, i did it and it took me about an hour to fabricate and install. yousee if you dont get the customs you get two different sets of boots and if you have the kind of boots that i have they lock onto the coil pack with two fingers on each side of each boot. now the boots that you get with the set dont have that so you have to take them off of the stock ones (not easy). sorry to be so long but just spend the money and get the cusoms.
Hey Al! Your supposed to be telling US what wires to get!!!
I took your advice and got some Jacobs for one of my trucks and they seem to be holding up very good. I guess my old wires were pretty bad because it made a big difference performance wise. And my AM talk radio shows don't have as much static in them since I put the Jacobs in.
YA! I'm finnaly checking all of my vehicles these days with the price of gas being so high.
I have been very happy with my Jacobs wires. I am just asking others opinions on wires to help me decide to stay with the Jacobs or seek something else.
That's what I recommend. I did a review on them in the reviews section. They're great to deal with and send lots of product to the US. Another EF member scored a set for his 5.0 on my recommendation and was highly impressed. He did a review as well. Great product and great seller to deal with. That reminds me, I'm flying into BC through Abbotsford in a few weeks and need to pick me up a set for my 5.0.

Ya gotta call them. I have them and they have worked great for me. They were like $96 shipped to Columbus OH. Plus my bank charged me a 2.50 foreign currency fee.
I also second the customer service
One wire was about an inch too short, it was rubbing the exhaust header. I added a bit of heat shield to the wire and had no problems. I sent the company an FYI email about it, got a response back within 12 hours and a new wire that was about 3" longer in about 3 days free of charge. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE
edit, I'm the other member celly is talking about. LOL
Ya gotta email them. First time I did, I got a response in minutes and they sorted me out. Also, long distance is so cheap. Give them a call. The owner dude I've dealt with is a class act. Read Chriswell's experience above. He got one wire that wasn't quite right and they fixed the problem, pronto.
Aurora lists two sets for the '98 5.0 Explorer, #95300 with a footnote stating that the wires are a "Through valve cover set (duckbill)" and a set #95320 with a footnote stating that the wires are a "Conventional external plug boot". I want to get set that has a fitment like the OEM units with the 45 degree boots on the plug ends and the double clips on the coil pack end to hold the wires to the coil pack. Which of these set will most closely match the OEM units?
Performance Distributors will make a custom set for around 100 bucks, have had livewires an my 90stang for about 5 years now woth no loss of resistance in any wire.
