Which Transmission

Ok which transmission do i exactly have in my ford Explorer its a 2001 XLT 4.0SOHC Is it A4LD OR not??? 4R55E or not????

The a4ld was used in first gens... You should have a 4R55E

I wasnt sure i get different anwsers a transmission place told me i have a differnt model the 5R55E hmm guess i will have to do some research.

I saw a list that said from about 1997 up to 01 it was 5r55e weird.

Wait I thought the 4r came in 95-97 and the 5r was put in 97+ Because I thought the 5r was the 5speed auto.

I wanted to say the 5r at first but second-guessed myself and read the sticky. A little searching afterwards leads me to believe the 5r now though...
