Just tore my 03 differential apart today and the carrier bearings look about like the pictures above. Have not looked at pinion yet, but expect the same mess. I am looking at replacing the bearings on the axle end of the differential, roller bearings, but I do not know what those are called. I am assuming that the axle shaft bearing is the one on the hub.
