I have recently coverted my stock R12 to a R134a system, and a couple months after the compressor started whining. Now I have checked the coolant pressure and its steady, so no leaks. I even dumped a oil charge in, nothing. The ac works great, it just whines/whistles when accelerating, but is silent when clutch is disengaged. Any ideas, other than a new compressor?
