sometimes when i am letting the clutch out from a dead stop in first gear i hear a whining sound its not very often but ive heard it a couple of times. it only lasts a second or two then it stops. could this be a clutch, slave cylender or other problem.

Check your serp. belt, may need a new one or just some belt dressing (any auto parts store).

A squeaky belt is very easy to recognize if your familiar try having a shop listen they should be able to tell if its your belt w/o even popping the hood.

If it sounds like it's coming from the trans area, it could be the throw out bearing.

does it sound kind of like a supercharger in a way? mine does that too but it doesnt really bother me.

Check the clutch play...sounds a bit sloppy

Deerslayer- i know belt sounds it doesnt sound like that. its coming more from the floor tranny area.
Jackitup- im not sure..
mic-i have some play in my clutch before it goes in maybe an inch give or take. how would i check it.

if its the throw out bearing would i have to replace everything. cuz i couldnt do that for a little while. (trying to rent a house). i just sorta want to get a close pin point on this before i tear it completly apart. BTW thnx guys for your help.

im not super concerned at this point. should this be in a different area, is this technicly tranny or no.?

well few days have past and i think today i heard that noise like 5 times. mostly when cold. sounds like some one smoking their tires for like a second then it stops. sorta sounds like its coming from the passenger-ish side of the car. Any thoughts??:feedback:

sounds to me like a bad throwout bearing, or one on its way out. I know you didnt want to hear that but that's what it sounds like to me

so if its a throw out bearing i have to basicly replace the clutch?

little yah im ok. just busy .

Whiny, hmmm, maybe a liberal stowaway.
