Whipple Supercharger

Hey guys I was just looking to get a bit of performance from my 5.0l. A guy around town is selling a kenne bell lower intake for the gt-40 style lower intake manifold and only wants 250 for it. If i bought this how much would it cost for a 1.5l,1.7l, 1.9l, or 2.1l supercharger to go with this. I know i would need some other modifications like fuel system and everything, but do you think it would be do-able for under 2.5k. I dont want to be spending alot of money right now since i might just be buying a 2003 cobra instead and getting rid of the exploder. Also how much boost will the bottom end take? I just think the idea of a sleeper car would be awesome!!! has anyone done this on a 5.0l? Cuase i didn't see very much when i searched about it.

This makes no sense...A kenne-Bell type blower was made to fit either a stock lower intake from a 5.0 or the Cobra(gt-40,explorer) type lower intakes. The lower is no different then yours on your explorer it would just make you $250 poorer.

Sorry about the confusion The Superchareger kit that kenne bell makes is split up into various components and this guy is selling the part that bolts onto the stock gt-40 lower.

It wouldn't fit you're system, a mustang 5.0 comes with a old style distributor in the front of the intake while explorer doesn't have that old system. The explorer has the 96-98 mustang ignition style system with 2 coil pack on the side of the intake. Also the shaft on the superchargers for the mustangs are too long.
