Today i replaced the EGR valve on my 1996 explorer 4.0 a/t, my old one seemed as if it wasn't even functioning and i had the code for p0401 along with 5 other codes, I replaced it and it instantly ran better, not smoother, but it idled more consistently, throttle feels more firm while in gear and such( not sure if its relevant or not) after i got the new one on, it immediately started a loud whistling under the hood, i can hear it if the radio is off going down the highway, not sure if maybe its the little hose by the dpfe, or what i t could be? Anybody have any ideas what it could be or past experience with the same issue?
