I just completed my body lift this past weekend, and I noticed that now, whenever i'm accelerating from a stand still in first gear I hear a whistling noise and when it gets up to about 3000rpm its like the transmission pops out of gear and then pops back in in second. Anyone know what might be going on?

Ok, so I figured out that it is a 1-2 flare. Any reason why it would start doing this AFTER I performed the body lift? I never had this problem before.

Alright, so now on top of the 1-2 flaring, I'm also getting a air ride switch off and the O/D off light is flashing. I know the O/D flashing is telling me theres a code, but it only flashes about every other time i start the X. Could the air ride switch off be because of the body lift and the sensor is too high? Any help you could give me would be great!

sorry, no clue, wierd symptoms.

The noise sounds almost like a hose sucking in air, but I couldn't find any disconnected hoses. Maybe I'll just take it in and have it checked. Good thing I got the 3 year warranty.

Ok, I'm affraid of taking the X into the dealership because they might say I'm at fault since I put a body lift on "causing the problem". So, before I go in, is there anything I can check myself? I'll recap my issues just to spell it out.

All happened after body lift:

Whistling/ Whining noise in first only, up to shift
first to second flare (feels like tranny goes to neutral and revs high then shifts back to second gear)
O/D off light flashes
Air ride switch off on information display

where should I be checking the harness at?

Ok, so check the wires on the transmission and then check the linkages? Newbie question. Where do I find the linkages and how do I know if I have enough slack?

When the vehicle bounces up, and down, the maximum bounce of the vehicle shouldn't pull any wires, hoses, or cables to the point where they are stretching them. You should have a little extra slack (looseness) on everything that I just mentioned. It's like the opposite of a clothes line. If you make it as tight as can be, then put weight on it, it will still hang a little bit with weight on it. If you start off with a line that is not as tight, then add weight, it will hang more than you want it to. In your case, you have to start off with everything hanging a little bit, so if your vehicle jumps up, and down, it won't tug on everything to the point that it is trying to disconnect anything.

Alright, I'll check that first thing in the morning. Me and the X are going to get to know eachother very well tommorow. Not only will I be checking this, I'm also doing the TPS mod, cleaning the IAC, and installing a K&N air filter.

I actually did that about a month ago. My throttle stuck whenever i hit the pedal for the first time and I found out it was the throttle body, so I cleaned both the TB and the MAF sensor at the same time.

Ok, I checked the shift cable and the harness' and I couldn't find any binding or stretching. In the write up I used when I installed my body lift, said to remove any clips holding the shift cable on. Problem is, I didn't see any clips holding it anywhere. Any ideas?

Yeah, I saw that. Its a cable on one side and a solid rod on the other. It didn't looked bound up at all. I don't know what else to check. I just can't figure out how puting the body lift on would cause the transmission to shift differently.

dont know much about tranny problems but what you said about not going to the dealer i assume u might have a warrenty left on it well just take off the body lift and then take it to them yeah i know alot of work but it will stop them from having something to blow it off on you for just a thought and one more thing you might want to wait to do all that other stuff untill after this is taken care of then do one at a time wait, then another that way if by chance somthing happens you wont have all these possibilitys that could go wrong get my drift one thing done, only one thing to fix right? good luck
