Who are the major tire manufacturers?

After all the tire problems with Firestone (just go tmy refund from Ford today) does anyone have any info on who makes what tires? This is more out of curiosity. I know Michelin makes BFGoodrich, Goodyear makes Big O...what about other tire brands....who actually makes them?

General Tire is a brand manufactured and distributed by Charlotte, N.C.-based Continental General Tire Inc. (www.contigentire.com). They make both General and Continental tires.

I recently heard that Goodyear is going to be taking over operation of Dunlop from Sumitomo.

actually Michelin is MAST....Michelin America Small Tires... they make several brands..... BFG is made by BFG but only distributed by MAST...uniroyal is also Mast... There are others too....

BF Goodrich tires are not made by BF Goodrich Corp. actually they are now Goodrich Corp. They sold their tire division to MAST, so Goodrich has nothing to do with them, but MAST bought the name as well and left in on the tires. MAST has been making BF Goodrich tires since 1986 (atleast acording to Goodrich's website). They may be made at the same plants by the same personel, but keep in mind that they are owned by MAST.
