Who has had their Explorer Dynoed?

Where did you have it done? What did it cost? What were the results?

in miami it cost 50 dollars on a monthly dyno day for three pulls. on a normal day it is 75 for three pulls this is the average in miami. we have bout 14 dynos in total that are open to the public. if you would like to come down for a dyno day let me know. i know there is a dyno at ramsy performance in tampa i relize that is not next door to you but it is right by the tampa air port. there are about 14 dynos in orlando and i can set you up with a buddy there if you want. he just got a brand new dyno and he is a sct certified tunner and one of the best in the country.

oh ya we made 200 to the tires one time. then another time we made 290, then another time it made 450, then another it made 500, another time it made 550. i think we have dynoed enough times to know that it makes stupid power.

I've dynoed mine a few times. My guy charges $50 for three pulls. But he usually let's us pretty much pull as many times as we need. Plus, he'll let us make minor mods between pulls which a lot of places won't let you do. I have to drive to the next down over to do it (Oroville, CA). I've dynoed anywhere from 186RWHP to 206RWHP.

Becareful, Aldive. It's an addiction. Once you get those baseline numbers all you want to do is raise them.

speed shops, most any that do major engine builds can refer you to a place that do's Dynos as they all need them be they static crank H.P. on a stand or RWHP pulls with the vehical.
Have had three done, nine pulls, best is 203 RWHP, 228 TQ, that was before my 75mm mas and SCT flasher, next will be with a nitrous application

if you are looking for a local dyno it is not that hard to find one. all you need to do is go online to dynojet.com and dynodynamics.com, and mustangdyno.com superflowdyno.com these may not be actual sites but they are actual dyno companies and they all have listings for local dynos.

There are in the metro areas. A lot of those ricer awd Elicpse and Talons use 'em. But I just pulled my front shaft to dyno mine. It works fine. I'd add a few % after words though cause I think some power is still being sent to the front.

EDIT: You're getting 13mpg!? I get better than that in my Explorer!

I'm doing a solid 14 now I do have a CEL now, so I'm hoping that its an 02 sensor and giving me bad mpg. Mine has its own mind, it likes to do what it wants, when it wants. I swear its posessed!

i was not trying to be ****y and was not going to post my brother numbers. i was only going to post about finding a dyno but afterwards i read about what numbers we had put down and well i just had to add that in. most people have seen my brothers dyno pulls on this board any ways.

Not ****y in a bad way, just some real good numbers I only wish I could come close to acheiving.

there is one awd dyno in miami, there is also one in tampa right next to a 2wd dyno. i am thinking about getting one, because i figure it is the only way i can get a dyno and be unique.


aslong as we are ****y in a good way then we are cool.

well i just had mine done this morning and i got 180hp and 221.6tq and i think that is good for a baseline whatcha think.

What engine do you have? Tranny? type of Dyno (Dynojet?)
Did they also measure the A/F ratio

its a 98 sohc the 5-speed i forgot the name of it itwas on a dynojet and my a/f ratio they said it was kinda leaning out but not much it started about at 5 and then went donw to 3.5on the scale

Thos are darn good numbers, if you calculate 18-20 % loss thru the auto tranny drivetrain your actually about 15 over O.E.M.
Do you have any mods?
Your A/F was most likely 15 and 13.5

oh ok on the a/f and i have a chip but didn't have it in so no i didn't have any on i just wanted a base line so i can see how much i will gain when i put everything on i just need to get my programmer recalubrated for the things im putting on

I have the brown wire mod.
there are both two and four wheel dynos in the area
Which would give me a better and / or more accurate reading ?
