I just swapped the whole axle front and back to go from 3.27 to 3.73....found a low mileage axle set at the boneyard.

NICE improvement..Explorers should never came with 3.27's IMOO

It ran me about $1600.00 to have them put in 4.10 gears front and back, and a rear ARB locker. It doesn't cost any more to do the locker than it does to do the gears. That's why everyone says if you are going to get your gears changed, that is the time to also have a locker installed.

ahh..but dont you have a newer generation explorer??..i have a 94.. so i was wondering if they have a different price?
