who needs mechanics?

Brake jobs are easy to do if you got the right tools. Drums are a PITA sometimes especially when you adjust them too tight (happened to my dad when he took my X out after I replaced the shoes on the back). Also with drums you might as well rebuild the wheel cylinders when you change shoes. Disk brakes are a breeze to do tho I can do front brakes on my X in like 20 minutes. I'm glad my new truck has four wheel disks.

Drums are easy too when your dad teaches you. We just put all new rear brakes on my 92, I have a brake pedal now, who knew.

While most projects can be accomplished DIY, please do not undervalue the skills of a professional. I'm sure those guys see many hack jobs every working day and shake their heads.
