They say Texas is "Ford Country," well apparently all the Texans out here only want a Limited. I have searched the entire state for an in stock XLT 202a spec in any color with no such luck. When I look at the dealer ordered vehicles, the majority of the vehicles being ordered are limited if not all. Just curious as to why are they push the Limited; it would seem to me the bigger market would be the XLT?

And again, I stress these darn delivery times, what is up!!!!

i dont know - in ohio - i wanted the better radio - the LCD screens - i figure why buy something and spend all that money and not get the best lol.

just me though - i cant pass up options.

I bought my XLT w/ 202a off the dealer's lot last month.

same with me, I walked into the dealership last week and picked-up the only available ex at the moment: XLT with 202A, tow package and cross bars

Its also possible that the dealers get XLTs on normal allocations, so don't bother to order them specifically.

There is a shortage of ANY Explorers, which is why I ended up ordering mine. Don't believe the inventory online either, they tend to be sold very soon after arrival.

Its most likely that the XLTs are gone as soon as they arrive. (my dealer said the last one he recieved that was normal stock was sold before they got it off the carrier and prepped)

I liked the options the limited has, so I ordered one. Simple as that.

I wanted some of the options available only on the limited, so they got me!;)

Same here. I plan on driving the Ex at least eight years, so I got what I wanted.

My dealer has 4 stores and all Ex's are "presold" or special ordered. Nothing in stock. I saw 1 or2 at others dealer but they are definately hard to find, Limited or XLT.

In Houston I have seen about 10 XLTs at dealers in the last week. Now I know were all the limiteds went in Texas

I wanted HID and push button start. My wife and I work very hard, we always like the top of the line (all the bells and whistles). Our last car we kept our last car for 9 yrs, 156,000 miles.. and plan on doing the same with the Ex so we loaded it up to enjoy every bit of what it offers.

We ordered the XLT as it appeared to be the best price point for what we wanted (Pkg 202A, GPS, Tow, Pwr Liftgate). We are at the dreaded "awaiting shipment" and hopeful to see it over the next week.

My sales person here in Michigan told me that the XLT is harder to come by than the Limited because the XLT's lease out way better.

I'm looking for a limited and made the comment that a dealer would not dealer trade with the demand for this vehicle. That's when he made the above comment.

In Feb., when I decided to buy an Ex, I naively had no idea of the difficulty some were having in actually getting their vehicle. I sat down to order my car (I wanted the XLT 202a, Red or White, comfort pkg, AND the seatbelt airbags).
He walked away, and came back telling me that they had one very similar on the lot. It had no rear seat belt airbags, but had the power liftgate, dual moonroof, cross bars, 20" wheels.
Something told me to go ahead and take it. I'm SO happy I did. I can't imagine how angry I'd be at myself if I insisted on those rear airbags.

When I went back to the dealer on Friday, they told me that they had 3 waiting customer pick up (I don't know if they were Limiteds), but none for people to test drive.

Had a Cloth XLT last time, so I deserved the Limited this time. It's the best value if you want the nicer features. This truck is amazing for the price. I sell the SUV (brand) known for being the best money can buy, and the Explorer is no slouch!
