Quick history/stats:
03 V6 with 178K. alternator at 108k, battery, plugs and wires at 160k. used E85 about 2 years ago on and off for 6 months at most. PCM update at 165K. When I start my truck, it doesnt do the traditional rev that 95% of explorers do- annyoing cause i like that. But once in a while it will! It just huvers (sp?) around 1-1200 rpm. I can get over that. Might be a symptom of the real problem, might not.
The real problem is when im coming home from work at night, truck will be fully warmed up after a 20 minute highway drive, ill pull past my driveway to back in, put it in reverse and it stalls. almost on command. Ill put it in park or nuetral and itll start quicker than you can snap ur fingers. Here and there when im accelerating ill have an occasional hesitation from initial push at low speeds but I cant replicate it.
Now, to the rev thing again real quick, below is a couple utube videos of a kid starting his daddys x (hahaha). The part to watch is the 12-18 second part. Im not talking about the timing chain rattle at 15, but what happens at the same time when the engine starts. And its not the kid reving it, my fiance's explorer sounds EXACTLY like this every single time it starts (rev) whether its hot or cold. Somone... gimme some advice...
