Can anyone explain to me why I feel left out? They dont make Sh*t for my ride..... well they do but I want it higher but they dont make a lift for my '97 Sport. My boyfriend and I did manage to raise it about 2 1/2 inches from the stock height, but that wasnt with a lift. We had to do it with the torsion bars, and rear leaf springs.......... ! Are they ever going to make one for my truck?

Superlift has a new 4" lift for 95-97 Explorers.

Thank you.... sorry I'm kinda new at this sh*t. I am now aware of the Superlift 4" for 95-97. What if I'm looking for like a 2" lift...... do they make one of those?

Most people do what you did for a 2" lift, crank the torsion bars in front, and get some new shackles for the back. That's what I did for my 96. There's also a 2" body lift available. Those are you options for 2" pretty much.

I'm going to move this to the suspension forum.

Sweet..... thank you for your help. Keep a look out!! :)

Do yourself a favor and crank down those bars a bit. Maxing out your bars means that you have eliminated any down travel in the suspension. And if you offroad like that, your CV joints can bind causing increased wear. Plus your suspension won't be as effective. Most people recommend no more than 2" of twist, but I only went 1" on my Ranger.

Hey TEX! I don't think there is a superlift lift for 95-97. Where did u hear about that?

Thats what I thought also about the Superlift 4" for 95-97.... cause I looked for it, but I didnt find it. I will keep looking........... Thanks

I had to call Superlift and ask them. The guy there said they just came out with it. I have been calling them since last summer and they always tell me that it will be out in a few months. The last time I called them they finally said that it should be out for distribution by the end of January. So us 95-97 X's finally have a lift for us.

priced SL explorer *kit*

Dead Link Removed
SL is $1510
or wait for the RCD *5.5"* ranger kit with coilovers which looks to be a much better lift. see the sticky up top.........

I checked that site out Soupbone..... got the info I needed. I didnt think it would be that price, but I guess its for the best..... we'll see what happens. Thanks!
Does anyone know if you can put a Ranger Lift in a Explorer??? :)~

I know you can put a Ranger Body Lift on to an Explorer but I don't know about suspension, I haven't seen anyone talk about it in any of the threads. But you do have to do a couple of mods to the body lift, if you check out some other threads I'm sure you can find the answers. I know someone said that if you call Off Road Warehouse 1-800-341-7757 they already have a pre assembled ranger lift for the 2nd generation explorer. But you have to call them they don't have it on there website.

Wow, this is an old thread. We dont need ranger lifts anymore, Explorers now have there own lifts out. Superlift now carries a lift for us 2nd gen guys.

Yeah.......... i'll second that on this being a OLD thread, but thats okay.
Yeah, the 4" lift by SuperLift was priced anywhere from $1500-2000........ which is alittle out of my budget right now........ maybe in the future.

Happy Trails ALL :D

No body said that this sport was cheap.
Just start saving your money, because your gonna need it. It usually isn't enough just to lift your truck. You then need bigger tires, but then with bigger tires you will probably need to regear, then if you regrear, then you might as well put a locker or limited slip in there too, Oh! then have to recalibrate the speedo, and on... and on... and on... It nevers stops.
Just remember to do it right the first time. that way you wont have to waste money on doing it over again. Plan everything out before you start making any modifications. This alone will save you abunch.
Good luck.

Hey Alec, with your 2 inch body lift did you just use a 1991-1994 lift or ranger one

I got my pictures updated. :) HAPPY TRAILS :)

I don't have a body lift.
