Hey guys I was browsing ebay and noticed a difference in the intake manifolds for the 2001 Explorer's. Why did ford use 2 different types? Does this have anything to do with the timing gears used? I know the 2002 and newer have a different type of timing gears. Since ford used 2 types of intake manifolds is this an easy way to tell if you have the newer style timing gears? Could have ford switched to the new gears when they switched to the newer style intake manifold?
