Wider wheels in back

If I have 17x9 cobra r wheels would it be ok to put 17x10.5 +24 offset in the back without any modifications I might lower the vehicle in the future

If my figuring is correct, the 10.5" wheels will have about 6.75 backspacing.
That is over 2" more than the stock wheels, and in looking at my 2000 Sport,
it appears that the tire sidewall will rub on the inner fenderwell. The wheel
openings do look large, but they're not that deep.

You might be able to hammer the inner fenderwell to gain clearance for the tires...
