Will 98 5.0 exhaust system fit on 98 4.0 SOCH?

My friend is giving away his Borla catback exhaust system on his 1998 5.0 Xplorer as long as I'm paying for the shipping. But before I do that I want to know if it will fit on my 1998 4.0 SOCH Xplorer. Is it exact fit? If not do I need to do heavy modification? Anybody has any experience on this?

Any suggestion are welcome.

I doubt it would work because of all the sizes and everything. If it's free though, take it, test fit it, and if it doesn't fit someone else here would probably take it off your hands. I was thinking the 5.0 had a single inlet muffler, but I think I'm wrong.

according to him, his truck has dual inlets and mine also. I'm just wondering about the sizes. I just don't want to pay for the shipping (around $30) just to find out that it wouldn't fit.

I highly doubt it, 5.0 is a completely different motor. If it's cheap enough I'd go for it if your handy you can probably modify it to fit.

For $30, how can you go wrong? Any good muffler shop will be able to fit the muffler into your system with basic mods. Even if you need new pipe, you're still not that bad off assuming the muffler's in good shape.
