will a 2000 windstar radio work with a 98 ex with premium audio

got it out of a junkyard same double din radio/cd the ex is a 98 the windstar is a 2000 plugged it up and it dont work

If I were you I would double check your wiring. It could be as simple as a loose connection. Or it could also be possible that the stereo it self is bad, was it tested?

Were both of the double din a true double din (brick shape) or did the radio slope down to a single din behind the face like this:

If they're different shapes, they won't swap. If they are, there is an issue with wiring, or the head unit itself.

No way to test it at the junkyard,returned it found another one it worked so the first unit was bad thanks for the help
