I have an 03 Explorer Limited 2WD with a stock 245/65/17 Rugged Trail tires and I'm thinking on putting a 265/65/17 BFG All Terrain T/A KO. I was told that it might messed up my ABS and it is not recommended. Should I go with 245 or 265?
The ABS signal your computer reads from the excitor rings also sends it to the speedo - which throws off your speedometer by a few mph with the change you made. Ford won't recommend anything not stock, but basically people say it could mess up your ABS in a panic stop, but I HIGHLY doubt it. I have 33s and have no problem with my ABS system (*knocking on wood*). I bet we would all like to see some pictures of your Explorer. Hope that helps somewhat.
