Yes, I believe you will. I had the pillar noise issue, cruise won't work when using remote start, and my Ford touch ran worse than my commodore 64. Just got the new MFT and it's so dumb its ridicules. I guess that's what you get when you only give them a year to come up with a solution. I really, really miss my Toyota sequoia. We are part of fleet and issues with new F450 is no better. Ford going down as quick as they went up.
 






All the complaints seems to be with MFT. The moment i sat in a limited model and went to touch it, i just knew it was going to have issues. I ended up just buying a base model because i did not need all the extras. I could not be happier. The car handles like a dream, comfortable, fits my wife and 3 kids and with the third row laid down with a weather tech mat back there, i have a ton of space. Best choice in a vehicle i have made in a long time.
 






Looks like a mixed bag for and against it. Hopefully the MFT is improved.
 






The media backlash on this is going to be HUGE. Good luck FORD.... you're going to need it.

Nah! For every one person who is vocal about things being broke you will have 3 or 4 who will say it is the greatest thing ever. :(
 






Chimoman, what the hell? I swear as much as you have defended Ford on this site, I thought you were a plant from Ford that was paid to come to their defense at all times. Your last post has blind sided me!!! I know you tried to upgrade MFT as soon as you could, I learned my lesson the hard way with my HTC Thunderbolt. The first software cure only caused problems that the second and third upgrade had to fix. That's why I've waited to take in my EX for all of its issues. If you have lost hope, how am I going to hang on???

No Regrets!

I just came out of a 2011 Chevy Equinox LTZ because I could not take it anymore. If you want issues buy one of them. I love my new Ex and I also don't have the issues that you read about here. Maybe an occasional phantom wipe but that gives it character. MFT will be upgraded soon and it will make it better than ever. People have to realize when a new totally new design emerges it will take awhile to shake out all the bugs. Mine is not buggy and I totally love it!;)
 












I would stay clear of any Ford product. I don't know if they think people are stupid or they are just ignorant to the process of customer satisfaction and service. I was a staunch supporter of this vehicle up to today. My system has locked up tighter than a Nuns drawers. Please don't come ln here and say its because of self install. That made me look stupid and I was lied to. There is no reflash or software update. Now I know why no reps on here answered that question. The TSB states the techs are to watch for overheating while the dealer install is ongoing. Hwever, I was told by 2 separate Ford employees that the reason for bringing my vehicle in was because it needed an upgrade of software that newer models had and mine didn't. There is no software upgrades. The PTS site has the upgrade on it and nothing more. Out right deceptipon as far as I'm concerned. Same as the gas tank fiasco. Well, I'm taking video of all the screw ups that are happening with the new and improved MyFord Junk. I'll post it up later. Dealer is going to do update. Then more documentation. Stay away from this vehicle. It's a nightmare on wheels. Why can't you just tell the truth oh right that would cost a lot of coin.

Yes, definitely take the videos and take them to your attorney, also NBC - yeah! As for saying stay "clear" of any Ford Product, I wouldn't go that far.. I have a 2010 Fusion that I love. I had a 1998 Ranger that I loved - made the mistake of trading it for an older Explorer with 95000 miles on it (Ranger had 90000 miles). Me and the Ex had a LoveHate relationship, but loved having the room. It wasn't poorly built, but just....old and weathered. I have an ipod nano touch connected to the Sync in my Fusion - It's pretty flawless, though Sync and MFT are two very, very different things.

I feel you truly got shafted, Chimoman. But, don't leave us yet. Let us know how things go with the lawyer. For the NBC thing, I'm looking forward to seeing it. Maybe what you say in news will push Mulally along regarding establishing better contact b/t engineers, corporate and dealers. IMO dealers are either really good or really bad. IVT on online forums are good for initial diffusion of anger and frustration, but IT'S THE DEALERS with whom the customers interface - THEY are the face of Ford.
 






I drive a huge collection of different vehicles at work (All Pool cars), meaning i drive what is available that day. With that, every vehicle has its little things. I love my new explorer and have had zero problems with it. You state four million cars with sync, that would be a lot of complaints if it did not work right. Someone else said it best, for every one upset customer, there are a handful of satisfied one. I love my explorer, in fact, i love it enough that i traded my ford excursion diesel in for it and i said i would never do that. But it was aging and gas prices in california are getting out of control.
 






I just ordered my 2013 XLT, 202A, captain chairs in 2nd row, +Nav in Deep Impact Blue. Read lots of good and bad comments here. But for me at 6'4" it was important to find a vehicle I fit in & has head & shoulder room. I have sat in 20+ cars & suv & I felt best in Ex. To each their own I guess. Good luck with your choice.

I feel the same, I jus spec'd out a new 13MY and I am hoping I don't have the problems since this will b the 3rd MY of the Ex.
 






What issues did you have with your Equinox?
No Power, Poor Nav, A pillar that is the size of a giant oak, They talk about bad backing on the third row seats the Equinox I believe is cardboard I had to put the all weather rear cargo mat in just so I could carry stuff. The Nav contrast is so bad if you try to see it during the day you will be lost you have to leave it on night mode just to see the screen and it is not because of sun glare. Do not pull out in traffic quick you will be run over. I dont know how they rate it at 260 HP when it wont get out of its own way. I did 11 months of it and could not take it anymore and traded it in for my 2012 Ex Limited. What a difference. I will deal with any of the little nuances versus the Equinox and to date like I said earlier they are just things that give it character.
