So, I am a poor college student and I want to lift my explorer, boo hoo, blah blah blah... Anyway, I've got a '97 4x4 exolorer xl, and I want 4-5" of lift on it and 31-32" tires, and I have a very minimal budget to work with. I'm willing to do as much as 2" of body lift, but my stock suspension is shot so I need some kind of suspension lift. I would loooove to do a solid axle on the front and just spring the whole thing over, but everything I've read says that kind of work is mucho $$. So the whole point is, I found this lift kit on suspensionconnection.com and was wondering if the '97 ranger and '97 explorer front suspensions are similar enough so I could make this work. Here's the link:

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks!

nope, wont work.....if you only want 31-32" tires, jsut do a tt and shackles...total cost is less than 150 after the price of the shackles and the wheel alinment.

Cool. That with a body lift should work just fine for what I need. Still got my CJ for crawling anyway...
