Hey...I got a 91 explorer with full width axles now and a 4.0L stock...i just put in 4.88 gears and i would like to run 38x12.5s...and i was wonderin whether my auto tranny that has been rebuilt with a few a lockup torque converter and shift kit and stuff will hold up to it...some guys here in town have said yes...others no...was wondering if i could get some more opinions or if someone is running something along those lines...thanks

38x12.5 is asking an awful lot for the anemic a4ld. But them again so are 35's. How many miles when the trans went out? How long had the 35's been on there? At the very least I'd get a huge cooler.

with the right gears it shouldent put that much more on the tranny then you have now
