will my trans bolt up?

I have a transmission out of a 96 or 97 ford explorer in my 92. I was wondering what the odds were a v8 would bolt up to it? If anyone knows this would be greatly appreciated

Short answer.... No.

Look for cologne 4.0 in this list and you will see you have.... no options

ok so since i have to switch transmissions. Would I also have to change drive shafts because it would cause them to be a different length or would it be the same length? I know of a guy who has a 302 and c4 or c6 who will sell it only to me for 100 bucks.

...if you buy a wrecked Explorer with a 5.0L, you have EVERYTHING but motor mounts for the swap...
