On a local board someone is selling "Hella DE - H1 lamp european headlights VERY bright, and can be lamped up to 200 watts "for off road use only" " and to be honest I have no clue what it is that they are selling. I dont know much about lights and was just wondering if I can buy these and put them in my 97 expy? sorry for the stupid question.

It sounds like off road lights that are NOT headlights. I think Hella only makes stand alone lights.

Hella makes a TON of OE headlight systems such as Audi, BMW, Lexus, etc. Expecially the HID headlights. Not just stand alone lights! :D

The only DE light I have heard of from Hella is the Micro DE fog light. I have them on my 'Yota. They are great fog lights, but take an H3 bulb, not an H1.

Post the link to the ad. I am interested in learning more about these DE H1 lamps from Europe.

That is basically all that it says. So are those headlights or fog lights?

I have no idea.....email him and ask.

hmm...if your interested in headlights, a pair of freightliner light bulbs fit will in a 2nd gen Ranger/BII or a 1st gen Explorer....and they are rated at 75w/115w I believe...

well 200 watts for a case of beer sounds like a good deal to me:D

light output isnt always about watts, you can have all the watts in the world but if they arent designed properly in a proper enclosure they are going to suck
