Will this mirror fit an 02?

if they would fit I think the 4 gen mirrors would look especially good on the 1gen explorer. The 1 gen's boxyness I think would fit well with the boxy mirrors.

I don't think that it will fit the 1st gen... those mirrors are a bit different.

not to bump old threads, but i found it funny i was thinking about this mod on my own the other day as gen 3 mirrors look dorky IMO and 06+ mirrors, are boxy but look nice and was wondering about putting em on my 05....glad i saw this thread in a sig. bump for newbs!

If by lights you mean puddle lights... yes 4th gen mirrors should fit a 3rd gen.

im sure they will fit the same, but is the wiring "plug and play" or does it need modification for the wiring harness

I thought that I read somewhere on here... might even be somewhere at the beginning of this thread that they just plug in.... But Id need to find that post to make sure...

Because this was trucku's idea, I'm not taking full pics. But they are a perfect match - perfect fit - no issues with anything. The pigtail runs from the vehicle to the mirror. Three bolts and a plugin... done. These mirrors are from Ford, so they cost new part prices... Easy as pie!

Update:
Some #$#%#^% stole the glass from my drivers side and broke the housing up pretty bad. Ordered a new with defrost feature. Defrost works just fine. So these trucks seem to have all the needed wiring already in it. I wonder other features I can plug and play. Maybe I can get some XLT ones.

So a quick numbskull question a year later. If I buy mirrors for an '08 Limited/EB with power, defrost, and puddle lamp, I can just plug it in to my '05 XLS, and it'll completely work?
Are there any Gen4 mirrors with turn signals that would work on my '05?

NO puddle lights before. Looks like the truck is wired for it already. I wonder if the heated ones would have worked.

Your right that mirror does not look flat (haven't verified that). Field of view is HUGE. When looking out my right rear view mirror my thought was it didn't seem flat.

I Got a 02 Sport Trac i picked up 06+ Explorer Mirrors and there not plug in play did i get the wring mirrors?

I put the 2006 mirrors on my 2004 ford Explorer 2004 xlt. So yes it will fit a Ford Explorer 2001-2005. Will post pictures of my ford Explorer 2004 soon
