Obviously its a worn weathestrip, but which one? I've tried putting tape around the window and various places to try to figure out which one by process of elimination. Seems like no matter where I put the tape, the noise is constant.

For those that have replaced the main rubber one around the door, has that fixed the problem?

Best i can tell you is to put a thin layer of vaseline on the doors weatherstrip and then close the door. Wait a few seconds the open the door and look for vaseline transfer onto the door itself. Should be a continuos line of it around the door. Where the spots are that you dont see it is where the leaks are. Could just be worn weatherstrip or it could mean the door was tweeked a bit either by an accident or by someone trying to get into the truck. I dont know the history of the vehicle so lets just assume its the weatherstrip.

Like you guessed, replace the main rubber one that seals where the door closes to the body of the car. It fixed it for me.

Where did you get yours? I see Rock Auto has them for $18.

BTW, did that restore the door shutting sound from a ka-klankity-klank, to the normal ka-thunk?

Rockauto, and yes, it did.

I just went up to autozone and got the one they had. Wasn't specific for the Ex, but they have sections of it in different styles. Match it with your current style and buy that one. I think it was about $25. More than rockauto, but much more convenient imo.

Ordered the Fairchild ones from JC Whitney. $32 per pair and free shipping. I got a 15% discount code I found online.

I realized mine have pretty bad tears on the bottom. Drivers side is missing about 6 inches completely. They seal at the top, but probably there is a lot of air whistling in from the bottom.

Finally replaced them today. Doors shut nice and solid, road noise is down. But damn whistle is as bad as ever. All the other weatherstrips look good. Annoying...

condition the weather striping with silicone lube helped me get a better seal

Do you have a sunroof? Could it be a rear door leak? Good luck.

Sunroof makes a little noise but can't hear it with the cover shut.

I've narrowed this down to the window, not the door. I put electric tape all around it, and it's quiet now. So I'm going to investigate further. Hopefully I don't have to replace the window seals because they are expensive.

Replacing the door seals did make it a lot quieter and shut up a lot of rattles. That and I had quite a draft coming in from the bottom.
