Window Clank?

When the power driver or passenger side windows are raised or lower all the way, there is a loud clank noise. As long as I dont go all the way up or down, this noise is not heard.

Anybody know what this is caused by?

BTW, it is a 96 Explorer

In the door there is are grooved bars that mirror the ones you can see above the panels...the window rests in these. It could be that one of them is out of alignment and when the window goes down it hits one of them and doesn't seat properly. When the window is up and you shut your door (with a little extra force) do you hear anything shake/vibrate/rattle?
